JUSTICE, TRANSPARENCY & CARBON REDUCTION, A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVEAbstract
This study explores how judicial effectiveness and access to information impact greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across countries. Using cross-country panel data with OLS regression and Structural Equation Modeling, it finds that strong judicial systems and transparency significantly reduce emissions by enforcing environmental laws and promoting accountability. Economic growth, population, and trade drive emissions, while innovation mitigates them. The findings highlight the need to strengthen legal institutions, improve transparency, and foster innovation to support effective climate action and policy implementation.
